Uni-Q technology gives the KEF Q650c the most realistic vocal performance.

World famous Uni-Q technology for a natural sound stage

The KEF Q650c uses a famous KEF technology to great effect, with the Uni-Q drive unit. This involves positioning the treble unit in the middle of the main woofer, creating a single point source for sound across the frequency range. The end result of this is a broader, more cohesive sound that gives a broad spread of sound between the front speakers.

Improved treble
A new damped loading system greatly reduces distortion, giving a smoother, more detailed top-end. The "tangerine" wave guide system helps the treble integrate more smoothly with the mid-range.

Aluminium woofer cone with Z-Flex surround for low distortion
Made from lightweight yet rigid aluminium, the woofer unit is fast to respond and linear in its response. This helps give life-like dynamics and low levels of distortion. Using technologies developed in their high-end Concept Blade speakers, the Q650c offers attention to detail not usually seen in speakers at this level. The Z-Flex woofer surround gives superior cone control, helping it blend seamlessly with the treble unit for a more even and consistent sound.

Separate bass and ABR unit for undistorted sound, even at high levels
Using a separate, dedicated bass unit takes the strain off the mid-range cone, ensuring it's free to concentrate on mid-range frequencies. This is especially helpful at higher volumes and also ensures the tonality of the speaker doesn't unduly differ from your full-range, front speakers. Helping this still further is an ABR (Auxcillary Bass Radiator) that utilises internal energy to further boast and sustain lower notes.

Sleek design
With hidden fixings no speaker grille plugs, the Q650c looks sleeker than ever. Available in black or white the minimalist style is a design classic.

The perfect match for a Q-Series home cinema system but also impressive with other brands of speakers, too, the KEF Q650c offers true vocal realism.

Speaker Enclosure Type
Bass reflex - rear port
Type of speaker enclosure. Infinite baffle cabinets are sealed and so are often less fussy about placement. Usually they do require a little more power to drive, though. Bass reflex speakers are usually more efficient than infinite baffle designs but may require more care in terms of placement. Rear port designs, in particular, usually need at least 15-30cm (6 - 12 inches) between them and the wall behind, for a balanced bass response. ABR = Auxcillary Bass Radiator (looks like a standard bass cone but without power)
